Water with added value based on anaerobic membrane technology (ANAMEM)

• Municipal wastewater can be a valuable source for the irrigation of agricultural products due to the nutrients it contains. High germicidal contamination and unsatisfactory cleaning often stand in the way of its use, however.
• The project examines anaerobic degradation of municipal wastewater in a high-performance reactor which enables concentration of the biomass and produces germ-free and particle-free wastewater containing all nutrients.
• By means of vacuum operation, methane degasses and can then be reutilized in a controlled fashion as biogas.
