Kurzbiographie

Born in 1975 in Hamburg, Jana Marie Mehrtens has graduated at the School of Oriental and African Studies / University of London in 2000. Her professional background is in development policy and bilateral and multilateral co-operation in science and technology, with a particular focus on developing countries. Before joining the Organisation for Economic Development and Co-operation (OECD) Ms. Mehrtens has worked for the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) and the German Development Institute (DIE). She has worked and lived in the UK, Germany and Indonesia. Since August 2009 Ms. Mehrtens works at the OECD headquarter in Paris, where she co-ordinates an initiative by OECD member and non-member countries to improve the governance of international co-operation on science, technology and innovation to address global challenges such as climate change, energy, food security and global health.
