got to Session Results

Date: 25/09/2008
Time: 11:00 - 12:30
Location: Hall F.1

Target Audience: Science
Objectives:
  • Formulation of action needed for politics, science, economy.
  • High lightening the contributions of research for sustainability to innovations
  • Format: Lecture with discussion
    Language: German (English translation)

The session „Innovation Policy for Sustainable Development” represents a thematic cluster which addresses expected parallelisms between innovation processes and sustainable development. It serves as a staring point for seven intertwined projects, which investigate the basis and perspectives of sustainable innovations and pinpoints the needs and options for frame-setting and policies. In a joint and co-ordinated approach, the following aspects will be addressed:

    • The parallelism of innovation and sustainability: a systematic comparison along the value chain.
    • Potentials for sustainable development through concepts for hybrid value creation.
    • Sustainable governance of international value chains: a case study-based approach.
    • Enabling innovations in agriculture to ensure sustainable development in land use: Stakeholder driven roadmaps.
    • Best practises in sustainability: A policy atlas.
    • Variants of sustainable development: A political atlas.
    • An integrated transfer strategy for sustainability.

Due to the early stage of the given projects, the session is seen as a highly welcome possibility to take up input from the audience based on the project outlines which will be presented.
