the European Parliament and the European Union on the 7th European
Framework Programme for Research formulates as the superordinated aim for the
Specific Programme ‘Cooperation’ a contribution to Sustainable Development.
The Workshop is going to present recently started research projects of FP7 and
will boost the discussion with the researchers involved. After an introduction
on the issue ‘Sustainable development’ given by a representative of the
European Commission (DG Research and Technological Development) three important
and central aspects of FP7 research on sustainable development will be
highlighted. German project coordinators are going to present the research
approaches in their respective projects under the headings
‘multidisciplinarity’, ‘internationalisation’ and ‘innovation’.
The discussion will aim at finding out the policy relevant products as the
output of the projects but also at learning about the added value of EU
projects.
Additionally some information will be provided by the National Contact Point
‘Environment’ in FP7 on how to participate in and make an application for FP7.
