One aim of Germany’s strategy for sustainable development is to double the productivity of resources until 2020. In fact the productivity has increased between 1994 and 2005 by 33.5 per cent, but this rate of increase is not sufficient. In order to reach its ambitious goal Germany has to strengthen efforts.
The audience is invited to discuss further steps required for a sustainable use of resources. The main topic is: Which role can research and innovation play? The challenges and chances for Germany as a location for research and innovation shall be identified.
