The session presents resource
efficient innovations from five countries. The focus is on a strategy for waste
and resources use prevention in Ireland, the development and implementation of
environmental indicators in the paper-, metal-, textile and chemical industry
in Romania and the substitution of chemicals in a wet processing textile mill
in Turkey to reduce the environmental influence. If integrated management
systems motivate companies to move towards a more sustainable management is the
question of a Danish presentation. If wastewater treatment plants are resources
for secondary phosphates and a new process for harvesting water from humid air
are the subjects of two German presentations.
Regional aspects for
sustainable production and resource efficiency, management methods and process
integrated solutions for the improvement of resource efficiency in several
industrial branches, cleaner production and best practice examples are the topics
of this session.
