Short biography
Dr. Dieter
Bryniok Microbiologist (University of Tübingen). He has been working for Fraunhofer since 1985 and
is now working there as a group leader and senior scientist. He is business
manager of the Fraunhofer Alliance SysWater, an alliance of 14 Fraunhofer
Institutes collaborating in the field of water management systems. Previous
roles have included responsibility for the Fraunhofer Center for Energy and Environment in Pittsburgh, PA (USA). Dr. Bryniok is expert in biodegradation
of recalcitrant compounds, environmental technology, industrial wastewater
treatment, soil and groundwater remediation. He is a professional member of various
organisations: Association of German Engineers, German Society for Chemical
Engineering, Engineering Society for Contaminated Soil, 1993-2000 he was chair
of the Environmental Microbiology Section of the German Society for General and
Applied Microbiology.
