Short biography
Dr. Jill Jäger was working as Senior Researcher at the Sustainable Europe Research Institute, Vienna (Austria) until May 2008. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Geography/Climatology of the University of Colorado, Boulder (1974). From April 1999 until October 2002 she was Executive Director of the International Human Dimensions Programme On Global Environmental Change (IHDP) in Bonn (Germany). She acquired many years of experience working as consultant for a great number of institutions like the Federal German Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt,UBA; Berlin), the Nuclear Research Centers in Karlsruhe and Jülich (Germany), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the OECD (Paris) or the Beijer Institute and Stockholm Environment Institute (Stockholm). Today she works as Independent Scholar.
