Cornelia Parisius studied psychology at the Philipps-Universität in Marburg and worked from 1987 to 1990 in the Psychiatric Hospital in Marburg. From 1991 to 2007 she stayed in Brazil and worked eight years for the German Development Service (conducted a study on street children; advisor for women organisations and gender policies) and five years for the German General Consulate in Recife, where she was responsible for the economical and scientific cooperation. Since her return to Germany, she worked one and a half year at InWEnt in Bonn; since November 2008, she is the coordinator of the young scientist programme IPSWaT – (International Postgraduate Studies in Water Technologies) at the International Bureau of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Bonn.
