Applications for the Digital Green Talents Award 2026 will open soon
From May 15 to June 15, 2026, young international researchers working at the intersection of digitalization and sustainability are invited to apply for the Digital Green Talents Award. The German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) will sponsor fully funded research stays in Germany.
The BMFTR-backed programme, "Digital Green Talents – High Potentials in Sustainable Development", is seeking 20 young researchers working on innovative digital GreenTech solutions for the third time. The Digital GreenTalents Award is open to doctoral and master's students in their final year, aged 30 or under.
In 2027, the Digital GreenTalents will have the opportunity to complete a fully funded three-month research stay in Germany. In addition to the research stay, the award includes a summer school, a mentoring program, and access to a global alumni network. A five-member expert jury will select the Digital GreenTalents. The 20 winners will be announced during an online ceremony in November 2026.
The Digital GreenTalents Award promotes international exchange to harness the potential of digital technology for sustainable development and establish long-term partnerships with the German GreenTech community. It is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space and organized by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe (PTKA) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
