- Exhibition "Sea of Knowledge" (St. Remigius Church cloister Bonn)

The exhibition showcases the achievements and prospects of German marine research by presenting select, true-to-detail models of German research ships, complemented by multimedia formats like virtual tours in 3D. The exhibition traces the beginnings of German marine research and follows through to the prospects and challenges it faces in the future. It underscores Germany's role in cutting-edge research with high-tech vessels whose expeditions have gained international recognition.

Opens at the "Bonn Leuchtet" event on 3 November 2017, daily 17.00-22.00
A light and sound installation with a focus on the oceans and seas. The ocean comes alive and invites reflection. The museum facade will be bathed in light from 17:00-22:00 to the sounds of the sea and whale song.

- Expedition "Clockwork Ocean" (Rheinaue Bonn)
(Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht - Centre for Materials and Coastal Research)
Duration: 6-16 November 2017
The Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht presents the full-dome, 30-minute film The Eddy Hunt. An international team presents images of ocean eddies taken from a zeppelin "parked" over the Baltic Sea. Eddies affect the migration of marine animals, algae growth and the climate.
