Water4All 2026 Call Pre-Announcement on "Sustainable Water Management"
A new joint transnational call (JTC) on “Sustainable Water Management” will open on September 8, 2026, as part of the European partnership Water4All. It will support research and innovation projects that address critical challenges in Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM), River Basin Management, Groundwater Management, Water Resilience, Data Monitoring and Use, and Water-Positive Solutions.
The Water4All 2026 JTC is supported by funding organizations from 30 countries across Europe and beyond. The goal is to improve water security in the long term. Four key areas are addressed:
Topic 1: Integrated monitoring and assessment for sustainable water management
Topic 2: Nature-based approaches for resilient water management at hydrological and hydrogeological system scale
Topic 3: Smart, secure and adaptive water infrastructures for sustainable water management
Topic 4: Resilient water systems through systemic change, policy coherence and inclusive governance
Projects will be funded for a three-year period. Applications will be submitted in two phases: According to the tentative schedule, the deadline for pre-proposals is November 10, 2026. Successful consortia will then be invited to submit full proposals by April 6, 2027. Projects are scheduled to start at the end of 2027/beginning of 2028.
