Water4All 2025 Call Pre-Announcement on “Water and Health”

A new joint transnational call (JTC) on “Water and Health” will open on September 12, 2025, as part of the European partnership Water4All. It will support research and innovation projects addressing key challenges related to the link between water and human health, including water quality, contaminants, and water treatment technologies.

The Water4All JTC 2025 is supported by funding organizations from 31 countries across Europe and beyond. Research and innovation proposals submitted are required to address at least one of the following topics:

  • Topic 1: Waterborne contaminants & health risks: occurrence, behaviour, interactions and vulnerability

  • Topic 2: Innovative tools and technologies for water quality and exposure monitoring

  • Topic 3: Water treatment and exposure mitigation

  • Topic 4: Governance, socio-economic innovation, and policy integration for water and health

A total of around 24 million euros will be available for the projects with a three-year duration. Applications will be submitted in two phases: According to the tentative schedule, the deadline for pre-proposals is November 13, 2025. Successful consortia will then be invited to submit full proposals by April 13, 2026. Projects are scheduled to start at the end of 2026 / beginning of 2027.
