German-African research for effective climate protection

In southern Africa, the effects of climate change are particularly evident. German research vessels have already undertaken numerous research trips to the Benguela Upwelling off the coast of Namibia and have collected data on temperature change, nutrient inputs and the renewal of fish populations. With these data, researchers from Namibia, South Africa and Germany can jointly develop strategies to ensure the sustainable use of the various ecosystem services in the region.
