Navigating Dry Futures with Seasonal Drought Forecasting

A dissemination and transfer event on seasonal drought forecasting and water management will take place in Bonn on November 27 and 28, 2025.

Drought forecasting is essential for enabling proactive water-resource management and timely adaptation measures. The event showcases the latest developments from the OUTLAST and SPS-Blue Nile projects, which were part of the BMFTR initiative on “Water as a Global Resource” (GRoW).

Through keynotes, live demonstrations, and stakeholder perspectives, the event will present operational systems, methods, and results for proactive drought management, and explore their transferability and long-term application. It will bring together scientists, users, service providers, regional agencies, international organizations (including the World Meteorological Organization), donors, and other public and private stakeholders.

A half-day in-person workshop will provide a technical introduction to the OUTLAST and SPS-Blue Nile products and portals.

Participation in the dissemination event and the workshop is free of charge. Further details and the full agenda are available in this  flyer.
