Sustainable Water Management: The DAAD is Offering Scholarships to Foreign Students

Following the third cycle of calls and selections the DAAD is, once again, offering scholarships for studies and research as part of the Federal Ministry for Education and Research’s (BMBF) funding priority “Sustainable water Management” (NaWaM).

Due to the success of the past three calls, the list of countries whose students are eligible to apply for scholarships has been extended to 14. Students and doctoral candidates from: Cambodia, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Laos, Myanmar, Mongolia, Tadzhikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam may apply.
The programme Study Scholarships and Research Grants for Foreigners offers highly-qualified Students and Doctoral Students from the above-mentioned countries the opportunity to study in selected English-spoken Master's programmes at German universities, or, to carry out their PhD projects in Germany in the thematic fields of “Water and Health” (particularly, the treatment of emerging pollutants and pathogens in the water cycle) or “Water and Environment” (particularly regional water resources management for sustainable water protection).

Students who were selected in the third call at the beginning of 2014 will be taking up their studies and research projects in October 2014.
